The OTHER Kick Ass Branding!

Some of you have probably heard about Viacom making YouTube take a ton of videos down, and now Viacom is attempting to replace YouTube with their own videos on the Comedy Central site. I think this is so totally uncool because:
1. Comedy Central’s site is too noisy, and harder to navigate than YouTube.
2. I don’t want to search for videos on more than one site. I’m likely to just go to YouTube and skip Comedy Central.
3. The Comedy Central player has more advertising than YouTube’s and you can’t resize the embedded videos.
4. Comedy Central plays little advertisements between clips, like in the picture above. I was watching SouthPark on Comedy Central and all of a sudden I’m watching a comedian (I didn’t find this funny).
I think Viacom has made a huge mistake in pulling their videos from YouTube. They’ve made it harder for their fans to find their videos. I think they are operating off of the control freak model….YIKES!
Via Laughing Squid, we see that the Flash Mob lives:
In modern usage, flash mob describes a group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, do something unusual for a brief period of time, and then quickly disperse. They are usually organized with the help of the Internet or other digital communications networks.
Although sometimes used for the benefit of political and social agendas, Flash Mobs can be used just for Fun!
