Tattoo Capitol

Feb 16, 2007

Jon Fine posts about Gannett’s New Lease On News:

One of the never-ending delights of the human condition is the flukiness of inspiration, how creativity sometimes springs from unlikely places. And so it is that the newspaper chain with the most interesting and coherent approach to rethinking journalism and news-gathering is not the New York Times Co. (NYT ) or the Washington Post Co. (WPO ).

And this just in from our Local Gannett Paper:

With two tattoo studios and a client base that stretches from Fayetteville to Jonesboro, Mountain Home’s become the tattoo capitol of north central Arkansas.

Who knew?

This Is How We Do It

Feb 16, 2007

Brand Hacking. What the heck is it and how the heck do you do it?

1. Story — We help you drop the Drama, find the Real Deal.

2. Brand — We create the Elements — Name & Domain Name, Logo & Tagline, Look & Feel — that convey your story.

3. Venues — We discover the Places where your story can be told — Placement, Positioning, Promotion, and Distribution.

4. Flow — We Free your story so that others can retell it, and we can follow the flow back to you.

Just Like That.

Doc Searls, the Markets Are Conversations guy, posts on the Linux Journal:

Transaction still matters, of course. So does conversation. But the biggest wedge in the social pie of the public marketplace is relationship. Prices less set than found, and the context for finding prices is both conversation and relationship. In many cases, relationship is the primary concern, not price. The bottom line is not everything.

If your story and brand truly engage someone in conversation and relationship, then you will see it in The Bottom Line.

I just noticed on HitTail a visit from a search of china’s ninjas.

Then this article in PingMag, Kahing Chan: What’s happening at MTV China? The creative director at MTV China in Beijing, asked if the Censorship situation will change in the future answered:

No. This is the only way to keep the balance of such a big country. If the government doesn’t control anything, China will go wrong. This is almost the same as playing a game: if there are no rules to play the game, it won’t be interesting. Even better – you can find enjoyment through all these rules.

I don’t believe his story, but I do believe The Game will get more interesting in China!

I’ve been looking at Microchunking our Story and came up with this version:

We’re a Cute Couple who Get It and we can help You get it.

We’re Cute because when the Deranged Loner (Bill) first came in contact with the Secret Princess (Misty), we lived over 2000 miles apart and had a 30 year difference in age.

We get it because we look, we see, and we play with Brand Hacking.

We can help you if you have a product/service of value and want to enter the Future of Marketing and Media.

Windows Vista Snipping

I’m now into week 2 of using Vista and I have found that the built in Zip extractor is extremely slow. It took it over 2 minutes to extract a 1.38MB file. I did find that WinRAR works on Vista and it extracted the same file in seconds.

snipping tool Now, one thing I have found that I love about Vista is the Snipping Tool. It works like Print Screen on Steroids! You click the Snipping Tool and then select which area of the desktop you want to cut out as a picture and then it automatically opens up a new box with the area you selected. You can then save the file as a JPEG and you’re done.
