I Can’t Go For That
Boing Boing ran this video last Thursday. It is a perfect example of Fred Wilson‘s notion of The Future of Media:
1. Microchunk it.
2. Free it.
3. Syndicate it.
4. Monetize it.
I can go for that, oh oh…oh can do!

Celebrate the coming of Spring!
Last night I came across this old movie that I hadn’t heard of before with Ellen Burstyn. Wonderful story, direction, and acting. Reminded me that we are all worthy of love.
Last night I came across this 1934 UK movie on Netflix and loved it! It’s US release came in 1935 in a shorter version titled “The Evil Mind” embedded above.
It has some truth in it, some superstition, and a lot of fun!
A year ago or so, I was listening to an audiobook and thought I heard “where moss and rust consume”. I just found out it’s “where MOTH and rust consume”
The full quote is Matthew 6:19 –
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal.
Live and learn, right?
I can’t always tell if a client is going to not show up for an appointment. But if it’s a no show and no call, that tells me all I need to know.
But what if they call back to reschedule? Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.
I think a mail in cash rescheduling fee is the answer!
Lately, I hear J. Cole’s rework of Paula Abdul’s Straight Up 2 or 3 times a day, but her version works better for this overview of last years iPhone pictures. Love Forever!
Last night I watched Hereafter again, which got me thinking about the Bardo Thodol, which got me thinking about the day the Dalai Lama visited Santa Fe.
At the time I was working the evening shift as an intake specialist for a alcohol/drug addiction hotline. I got home late and usually slept until noon, but found myself lying awake at 7am when the phone rang. A friend had tickets to a teaching by the Dalai Lama at the local Buddhist stupa, did I want to go? Sure.
Lotsa people, had a pretty good seat, but I’d heard this one a thousand times before, so I went for some air.
Taking up the lotus position, I watched the Mercedes and the people. That day I saw more blondes then in the rest of the seven years I lived in Santa Fe. This was the super rich getting on their Enlightenment Chic.
